Writing came upon me like a fever, and rather than exorcise it, I embraced it. Since I’m living in and writing from Canada, and not evangelical, I took the .ca website. Nothing too fiery, we’re Canadian, eh?
The Real Story
A curiosity around my past led me to take up the hobby of researching my family genealogy. We all have crazy family stories that went with the history, mine were just interesting enough to begin writing them down. I was having a casual conversation with a distant relative, when she asked, “Why don’t you write these things down?” As I delved deeper, I felt compelled to learn more about the craft of writing an interesting piece.
That writing of my own family history led to my finding the story of Walter Crofter (I, Walter).
The Eternity Series is a re-telling of Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales. The Tales were written about a group of people on a pilgrimage to the town of Canterbury, in the 1300s.
His tales, at times baudy, were about the various professions: the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker, the knight-errant, and others. Mine, too. Except mine are not told solely in a small journey in England. Mine cross countries all over the world. And seas. Yes, seas. My books cross many of them.
And mine are not told over a period of weeks or months. Mine start with I, Walter in 1588, and will continue until present day.
So, hang on for the ride, and come join me as I celebrate individuals of all walks of life. And hopefully, along the way, I’ll be able to make others think, not just about appearances, but about the challenges in life that we all face… in our own, different, ways.
Though I was US born, I grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and currently live in Vancouver. I’m a compassionate man who balances the everyday craziness of family and business offerings with the quiet solitude that writing provides.
An accomplished writer and author, I had published three books including one of very personal poetry, and two of family history, before starting The Eternity Series.
